On Thursday, May 28th 2019, the first doctoral (S3) student open examination was held at the Postgraduate UNNES. Wahyudi, S.Pd, M.Pd who is a student of Postgraduate UNNES in Mathematics Education Study Program is a lecture of Faculty of Teachers Training and Education (FKIP/Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan) at UKSW (Univeritas Kristen Satya Wacana) Salatiga. He has successfully defended his dissertation entitled “The Ability of Students’ Creative Thinking and Thinking Schema Seen from Their Learning Styles (Kemampuan Berfikir Kreatif dan Skemata Berfikir Mahasiswa Dilihat dari Gaya Belajarnya )“.
This online examination conducted by using YouTube channel and ZOOM application. This online open exam (online) was led directly by Rector of UNNES Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum (as a the chairman & first examiner); Director of Postgraduate UNNES Prof. Dr. Agus Nuryatin, M.Hum (as the secretary and second examiner); the third and guest examiner from UNESA Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Siti M. Amin, M.Pd; the Coordinator Study Program of S-3 Mathematics Education, Prof. YL Sukertiyarno, MS, Ph.D. (as the fourth examiner); the Secretary of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. Kartono, M.Sc (as the fifth examiner); and the sixth examiner is Dr. Isnarto, M.Sc with his co-promoters named Prof. Dr. Hardi Suyitno, M.Pd (as the seventh examiner) & Prof. Dr. St Budi Waluya, M.Sc (as the eighth examiner).
This dissertation research uses a mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design technique that was conducted at the Undergraduate (S1) – PGSD of UKSW Salatiga. The results of this research show students who have both of good and complete formal schemes, content and linguistic, are also good (creative) in Curriculum Based Competence (KBK/Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi) teaching for auditory, visual, kinesthetic, visual-aditory, and visual-kinesthetic learning styles.
